so long so gone…

it has been a long time. i probably have 2 fans left. ah well.. let’s get on with it, shall we my 2 fans? so much has happen in the past year. some of the major highlights.
- i started dating again.. people probably had questions.
- went back to the ‘compound’ in monroe. now.. i love monroe.. but aren’t there a million other places more suitable for a mission center? one day i will talk about in more detail.. but it was divinely ordained the way it played out.
- i got engaged. more questions. even more surprise. almost gave my mom a heart attack (true).
- got married! joy & jubilation and a general sense of relief from the general community (though the old bachelor-’til-the-rapture crowd mourned the loss of one of their own).

an aside i have to say.. the wedding was one of the most blessed, happiest, and sincere acts of worship i’ve ever been a part of. thanks to everyone who took part, help out, gave generously, and just filled the hall with merriment and well-wishes. that day and my journey ’til this point was built on the generosity of my friends.

also we had 2 weddings and 3 honeymoons. vancouver/korea. whistler/chejudo/beijing. i wished we had stopped at one, but b/c of such….

- we are expecting! a literal honeymoon baby. we’re expecting a boy sometime in late april.. or whenever my future son chooses to grace us with his presence. no names yet.. but the current favorite is josiah, with jesse not far behind. left behind are noah, eli, david, and somewhere.. zephaniah.

shout out!

to my wedding coordinator who just got engaged and was so blessed by her visit with us to a nice dinner at a fine japanese buffet the day of. also.. maybe one of the two fans that i might have. maybe. she’s one of the best friends a person could ask for and someone who genuinely cares and always tries to do what is right. i couldn’t be happier for her.

my first love

sometimes my wife thinks i love football more than i love her. she wonders what i’m going to do now that the season is over. i’m going to talk about it of course! haha. some people might wonder why i love football so much. i’ve never played it in school and when i try to play it with my friends i generally sucked at it. i never attended a football loving school or institution. i’m not even american. and some non-believers think it’s too confusing and too violent. it can be violent, but controlled. it looks confusing at times, but it’s very orchestrated chaos. it gives us visible displays of sacrifice, teamwork, perseverance, and courage. and tonight.. there was a david that slayed a goliath. new england was a goliath that everyone expected to win. the evil empire with it’s own hooded emperor. the new york football giants were, my geek-speak, luke skywalker & the rebel alliance.. firing that one last shot down the death star to blow up what that emperor, spygate, and everyone else thought was going to be a coronation. it was thrilling and beautiful and gut wrenching all at the same time. and that’s why i love football.

see you next week!
